The science of reading tells us students need to read and practice sight words in context to help orthographically map the words in their long term memory. These 179 pages provide words, phrases, and sentences for students to decode and make meaning!

Sight Words In Context by Orton Gillingham Mama

175 pages of Dolch high frequency words for Sight Words IN CONTEXT.

Turn high frequency words into sight words by reading sight words in context. Students start by reading the target high frequency word in a short phrase, then in sentences, and next read the high frequency word in a connected text. After that, students write a sentence with the high frequency word and then draw a picture to illustrate the word in action.

The science of reading tells us that students need to practice reading and writing high frequency words IN CONTEXT to help them grasp the abstract meaning. This process helps to turn the high frequency words into sight words!

The whole set is easy to print (NO PREP!!!) and ready to use TODAY!

When paired with my Orthographic Mapping of Sight Words (and pointing out the irregular spelling portion), this approach will lead to efficient and fluent reading!
